Packing Tips - Bubble Wrapping

When you are planning a move, the first thing that comes to your mind is packing all your stuff safely and moving it securely. You take care of the first part and we’ll do the rest!

Knowing proper packing tips beforehand will ensure all your items reach the new place safely. Today we are going to focus on how to pack a box for your move. So if you are planning to move in the near future, keep on reading.

Basics to Remember

While packing different items, there are some basic points that must be remembered.

These are:

  • Cushion the material
It is imperative to choose appropriate density cushioning to fill all the void spaces present in the container. This will help secure the item and protect it from breakage.
  • Box it up
After choosing the right cushioning material, the next thing is to select an appropriate container. You can choose small, medium or large packing boxes to pack your stuff.
  • Seal it
After putting all the items in the boxes, seal it up. Use at least three strips of packaging tape on the top and bottom side of the box to secure the contents.
  • Label boxes
It is vital to label the boxes with your name, email and mobile number, having the full address of the recipient to make it easy for the movers to deliver your stuff at the right place.

How To Wrap

Before you move on to pack the cartons, it is important to wrap a majority of items in order to protect them from breakage or scratches.

Start by placing a small piece of paper on an uncluttered table and roll up small jars and glasses into two or three sheets. Begin from a corner and fold the sheet as you roll in. Whether you are wrapping odd-shaped items or easy to wrap items, you can apply a similar technique. You can use as much paper as you want, but make sure different items are perfectly wrapped.

Tips From Professionals

  • Always start packing a box by adding layers of bubble wrap or crumpled paper at the bottom to avoid breakage of fragile items. This layer will protect the items present inside the box and also help keep the stuff present at the bottom clean.
  • Alternatively, soft items such as towels, pillows or clothes can also be used at the base and top of the box instead of the bubble wrap as they will also serve the same purpose.
  • Small appliances can be individually wrapped before packing together in a box to provide additional protection. However, pots and pans need not be wrapped individually as they can be easily set along with the crumbled paper in a box.
  • Avoid overloading of cartons; however, make sure to firmly pack the stuff to prevent small items from shifting. The box should close easily without using any external force and the top should not bend inwards.

By following these tips you can easily protect your items during your upcoming move.
