Can extend my storage from 16 weeks to September due to the Coronavirus outbreak?

Yes you can extend your storage from 16 weeks to September, 26 weeks instead. The team will update the price and send you an invoice for approximately 26 weeks.

How can I update my booking?

Please simply complete a Booking Update Request and we will ensure your details and booking are updated.

 

When will you arrive at my accommodation?

You will receive a text message the day before around 9pm arrival  with an estimated AM or PM arrival. Prior to our teams’ arrival you will receive a call.

 

Can I return the standard boxes that are unused without incurring a fee?

Yes. Just return the unused boxes to the the Uni Storage Box collection team at no extra cost.

 

Do you provide boxes?

Uni Storage Box ONLY provides free Standard boxes for the storage of your items which is charged at £1 per week. Should you require larger or smaller boxes, you are at liberty to use your own boxes. However, non standard boxes will be charged at a different price as detailed in our pricing section

 

How do I arrange delivery of my items?

When you’re ready to have your items delivered back, log in to your account no earlier than 21th August and request delivery. We’ll send you an email on the 3rd week of August to remind you to log into your account.  We recommend that you book your delivery as soon as possible as we have limited delivery slots per day.  

 

What cities do you collect and deliver to?

We currently collect and deliver in Dundee,  Edinburgh, St AndrewsGlasgow, Perth and Stirling.

If you require your items to be delivered in other locations though, we offer national delivery as well as international shipping. Extra fees apply.

 

Where do you collect from/deliver items to?

If you stay in a private flat we will collect/deliver your items from the ground floor or the entrance of your block/reception area. For halls of residence we collect and deliver items to reception/main entrance areas only. If you require your items collected from a different area from the above, this may incur an extra charge.

If you require your items to be delivered to a different location other than your collection address, this may result in an extra charge.

 

When do I pay for my booking?

A deposit of £40 may be payable when you receive your empty standard boxes a few days before the collection of items. The remainder of your payment will be due at the time of collection, not delivery, of your items and any deposit subtracted from your total bill. All payment should be made by debit/credit card online. 

 

Are there other modes of payment other than Credit/Debit Card?

No. Uni Storage Box does not accept cheques. The modes of payment are cash on collection, credit/debit card online.

 

Do I need to label my items?

Yes. It is essential that you label all of your items with your name and contact details on the top and side of the box/suitcase. However, at the collection time, the Uni Storage Box team will label the items for easy tracking from our storage units.

 

How are the charges for the storage calculated?

Uni Storage Box charges all customers for 16 weeks storage. This is known as “Standard Summer Storage Period” (SSSP) which is the median length of time that all customers are charged for. We can increase storage periods as required. We have no maximum storage period.  In 2020 the storage medium will be 24 weeks due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation.

 

How do I get my referral discount?

You will receive a £10 Uni Storage Box credit for every new customer that you have referred. They will also get £10 Uni Storage Box credit! Once you’ve made your booking, simply ‘Like/Follow’ and ‘Share’ our Facebook/Instagram page to refer a friend. You and your friend will then receive your credit once he/she has made a Uni Storage Box booking. Terms and conditions apply.

 

Do I need to seal my boxes?

Absolutely! Although we are crazy about packing tape you must put tape at the top and the bottom of every box to prevent your items from falling out of the boxes during transport. Over packing of the boxes may attract an extra fee which will be £20 per box.

 

Should my address change how should I inform you?

In case of a change in address, please contact us through email 48 hours before the collection/delivery date.

 

What if I want to store more/less after I have already booked my order?

No problem! Simply email us with the details of any changes, pack your goods and make them ready for the collection day. The Uni Storage Box collection team will update the cost when they arrive at your address to collect the goods. In case you need more standard boxes the team will deliver them prior to your chosen collection day.

 

What if I don’t return to my university after the Summer or if I move to another city?

You can have your items returned to any address in the UK for a small charge. Please contact us for a price or see our shipping section.

 

Can I store my items for longer?

Yes you can! Just send us an email informing us of the date you’ll be returning and we will send you a quote for the extended storage period. Depending on the date you need the items returned, there may be a charge.

 

Are there other fees other than the storage costs?

Other costs may include:

Over packing – £20. Failed/missed collection – £15. Failed re-delivery – £15. Cancellation of order after the free standard boxes and packing tape have been delivered and before collection – £40. Overweight item: reclassified to the next category of pricing plus an additional £20. Late fee payment (non-payment of an invoice after 14 days of of issuing) – £30.

 

When can I get my stored items back?

Items are generally delivered back to the city they were collected from during  Freshers week, the beginning mid September. If you need early delivery then please contact Uni Storage Box. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee early delivery as our teams will be working in other cities during the Summer period.

 

Is my stuff insured?

Yes. This is included as standard! Each box/suitcase is insured up to £100 during transit and storage in our warehouse. Please see our terms and conditions for full details.

Customers may increase the insurance cover of specific items by paying an extra fee which will be calculated by the Uni Storage Box team upon arrival .
